Prevention
is always better than cure. Natural care for your skin helps to
control and prevent acne breakouts. Here are some useful
tips to for acne control:
- Mix a quarter cup of water and a teaspoon of salt together.
Apply the mixture on your face gently but firmly using a cotton
ball or pad.
- The home and office telephone can be home to millions of germs
and bacteria. Clean it regularly by rubbing alcohol on it, especially
on the receiver.
- Squash a cucumber or bitter melon and spread evenly over the
acne area.
- Dab tea tree oil onto the acne or pimple area using a cotton
bud or ball. This will reduce the swelling and healing time.
- Use a cotton ball and soak with freshly squeezed orange juice.
Then dab the cotton ball gently onto acne. Other citrus juices
like lemon, grapefruit, lime, mandarin, tangerine, etc.
- Apply ice to pimples or acne to reduce the swelling, especially
when you wake up.
- Pull your hair back if it is clinging to your face as the oil
from the hair will rub onto your face and causes acne.
- Consume at least 8 glasses of water each day as it very good
for washing away the toxins that causes pimples and acne plus
it will hydrate your skin as well.
- Wash your hands regularly and keep your hands away from your
face as often as possible, especially if just been in contact
with the bacteria laden public facilities and pet animals such
as cats, dogs, etc. These bacteria will easily cause acne or pimples
if come in contact with your skin. Wash your hands also before
applying anything to the acne or pimples.
- Certain things are often in contact with your face or skin,
such as pillow cases, face/hand/bath towels, undershirts, etc.
Ensure these items are being washed regularly to prevent bacteria
build-up that could spread onto your face or skin, thus causing
acne or pimples. And wash your face whenever in contact with these
items.
- Never ever pick or squeeze blackheads, whiteheads or pimples
as it will leave permanent scars and result in a longer healing
time. Always use natural acne treatment products instead.
- Wash your face in the morning, after vigorous sweating and
before going to bed. If using make-up, do not leave on face for
too long and clean face thoroughly after use.
- Steam your face with a bowl of hot water and a towel drape
over your head. After a few minutes, rinse face with cold water.
This is an easy yet effective home remedy for acne treatment.
- Ensure all your facial care products, including moisturizers,
makeup, etc. are labeled as "noncomedogenic" or "nonacnegenic”,
which means they do not clog pores.
- Protect your face or skin from direct sunlight.
- Apply a mixture of honey and oatmeal to your face. The oatmeal
is good for soaking up excess oil while honey relieves the skin.
Or you can beat an egg yolk and apply it to face with a cotton
ball - leave on for about 15 minutes before washing off with warm
water.
- A diet that is high in fiber (fresh fruits and vegetables)
keeps your skin healthy and smooth. Junk food such as chips, candy,
etc. should be cut down, the same goes for caffeine and salty
foods. Know the foods that will aggravate your skin and remove
them from your diet.
- Try to minimize the daily stress in your life as much as possible
as it may trigger acne breakout.
