How to use Antivirus program

You will first need to purchase an antivirus program or download one for free.

Common and recommended anti viruses include Norton and AVG.

After downloading and installing the antivirus software, have it scan your system to clear out any existing viruses in your system.

Remember to regularly update your antivirus software and to scan your system regularly.

If you use your system fairly frequently then it is recommended that you run the scan at least once a week if not twice.

How to use a firewall

A personal firewall is more complicated than a simple antivirus because it does more than just scan and clean your computer.

A firewall if used well can actually prevent any type of privacy attacks altogether. Remember the old saying? ‘Prevention is better than cure’.

Like an antivirus, you can easily download a free personal firewall online or purchase one at the shop.

Either way, if you’ve never set one up before, make sure that you either get the shop keeper to help you or refer to the website you downloaded it from for installation instructions.

A proper firewall should ask for your authorization before downloading or accessing anything online. This can even include online games.

To avoid hassles but still protect yourself from hacker attacks, just leave your firewall on but change the settings to allow information from regular sites online games to pass freely.
