Las Vegas has stars that are of the animal variety too. Not to mention aquatic life, reptiles and birds as well. For animal lovers, whether you’re a kid or an adult, you’ll find a lot to see in Las Vegas. Why, you’ll even find shows where animals are the stars of the performance and you could walk into a nightclub and find that it has its shows centered around animals. Vegas is definitely the place to be if you are searching for fantasy and escapism.
If animals make you feel all warm and fuzzy, you must swing by the Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park. This may be one of the smaller zoos you have been to but it makes up for it with some very rare animals. Here you will be lucky to look upon the last of the Barbary apes in America. You can also take a look at the strange emus, flamingos, reptiles, wallabies and chimpanzees.
You can do some animal observing in Las Vegas, not just in the zoos but in museums too. You may just find some free performances. Of course, you’ll find animal acts at some of the nightclubs as well. When in Vegas, don’t miss the Mirage. Here, you’ll find the White Tiger Habitat where you can see these wonderful animals in a pristine white environment. Why white? So the animals can blend in and feel protected to some degree. These creatures are extinct now in the wild so you can count yourself blessed to be able to see them and as a free exhibit at that!
Also at the Mirage, you’ll see the Mirage Aquarium with its huge mock coral reef and sixty species that belong to the coral reefs from all around the world. This 20,000-gallon saltwater aquarium is just behind the front desk and displays a wealth of exotic sea creatures. You’ll also find the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat here. This provides a good environment for these wonderful animals and is also a remarkable place for people to discover the role they play in the biosphere. If you are over 13, you might pay a price and become a trainer for a day and this makes for an extraordinary experience.
If you’d like some more insight into aquatic life, remember to visit the Mandalay Baby Shark Reef which turns out to be among the largest when it comes to marine shows in the USA. There is an entrance fee but it’s worth paying that fee because it really is one of the best outings you can have in Las Vegas. All this is just a taster for what Vegas provides. There’s huge amount more to see of course. If you’re an animal lover, you’ll discover so much that’s right up your street in Las Vegas.

These days folks are looking to maximize their entertainment dollar. Increasing fuel prices, a slowing economy, and higher food prices are putting the squeeze on citizens. Fortunately, one of the great values in entertainment is your cable or satellite television service.
If you take a moment and think about it, anyone can get a bundle including over 100 stations including premium movie channels like HBO and Starz for about $80 dollars a month. That is less than you usually spend for dinner and a movie. The latest and greatest in the pay TV market is HD, or high definition service. What should you evaluate when hooking up that new flat screen TV you just purchased?
Don’t forget that your standard cable tv or dish TV service is not in hi-def. You must specifically buy a package that features this type of programming. So where do smart shoppers start?
Make a call to your current provider and find out exactly what they offer as far as HD service. Satellite television companies DISH Network and Direct TV have been leading the charge as far as providing the most high definition when you look at channel counts. Cable TV providers like Time Warner also have some nice offerings, including HD on-demand. Ask exactly how much upgrading to hi-def will be, and if you need to buy additional equipment.
If what they are offering is not what you want, do a little comparison shopping. The newest offerings include an all hi-def package from DISH Network called Turbo HD Bronze. Direct TV offers HD service for just $9.99 a month. Charges per month are different with cable TV companies across the country, so you will need call your cable company to see what the cost will be for HD service.
Another consideration is that many telecom companies now offer TV service. AT&T now provides their U-Verse service in many areas along with telephone and high speed internet. Verizon is also in the game, offering their fiber optic service FiOS in many areas. It is advisable that you compare different services side-by-side, such as Verizon FiOS vs DirecTV. These developments are a benefit to the customer, as more competition encourages lower costs in the long run.

My daily routine when I was a young kid at school was to go home and watch the cartoons before it was time for supper. This was usually Popeye, Yogi Bear, Tom and Jerry, Roadrunner or Top Cat. I would laugh myself silly, and it was the perfect way to relax after a double lesson of math. My favorite animation character then was Top Cat. Inspired by the Sergeant Bilko TV series with Phil Silvers, TC ran his alley and gang of alley cats with cunning and style. I knew I would never be as cool as him.

My sisters and I planned a surprise party for our dad’s birthday. He had not been feeling well over the past few months so we thought a party would help cheer him up. We decided to invite relatives as well as some of his friends. We rented the fellowship area of the local church. Mom and Dad go to mass on Saturday evenings so we knew that it would be easy to get him to the fellowship area without him being suspicious. We wanted to make this a festive occasion so we decided to use party decorations in the fellowship area.
