There aren’t too many things that I can spend money on and not feel guilty about later. I don’t go on shopping sprees at the mall and buy things that I’ll never actually wear. I don’t live a lavish life with material possessions that I have no need for. But, I do splurge on books. I could feasibly spend hours and hours in a bookstore. All I have to do is walk into Borders or Barnes and Noble and see the Bestseller Books aisle and I’m in heaven.

If you love to get lost in a book, but don’t have a lot of time to read, audio books may be just what you are looking for. These are great for people who are really busy, or those who have lost some or all of their vision. They can listen to a book online or on a CD. This can be done at home, while in a relaxing bath, or during the long commute to and from work. If you aren’t sure where to buy, there are a great number of audio books online you can buy or download.

One of the best gifts you can give your children is a love of reading. Children who begin to read at an early age tend to carry a love of reading straight through to adulthood. Children who love to read often do better in school due to the fact that reading any type of book will be easier for them. Textbooks may not be as much fun to read, but it will be easier for a child who loves to read to get through their assignments. The best way to get your child started is to buy books for children at an early age.

Accounting is tricky business, and not everyone has the mind for it. In order to get a degree in accounting, you have to spend a great deal of time in college learning the ins and outs of the profession. Like any profession, there are those who just don’t cut it. If you have a more creative mind, accounting may not be for you. I once took a few courses, and did some accounting for a small company. I found it was just not for me, and I stuck with writing to make a living. If you aren’t a professional, but need to keep track of your own expenses, you can buy some accounting books and try to teach yourself the basics.
