Ever since I was little, I had always been fascinated by the German language. While one of the reasons could be directly attributed to the fact that some of my parents’ friends were German lecturers, the other part could be attributed to one of the most detested men in the history of mankind – Adolf Hitler. Don’t get me wrong. Learning German was not a passion because I wanted to be a despotic dictator. Learning German was inspired by the fact that the little despot had such a command over the language that he was able to sway millions by the power of his oratory.

Remember back in high school when you were forced to take all those classes you just weren’t sure about? Anything from wood shop, to drafting, to sewing was shoved in your face. Okay, so maybe it wasn’t forced on you, but you did need the credits to graduate. One of the big ones for me was learning a foreign language.

Just about anyone can write short stories but few can write good short stories. The craft requires a lot of practice and diligence but with a little time and a lot of imagination you can get your self off to a good start. Before children enter our lives, our houses are sometimes disorganized. Once children come along, the disorganization can turn into clutter and a pure mess. That certainly held true for me once I had a baby. Suddenly, my house was clean but cluttered with baby toys and items everywhere. I couldn’t keep up with working and raising a child. I was content if only half of the house had baby toys scattered about.
