Increase
your computer speed & enjoy faster internet connection just
by overclocking your CPU.
To enjoy fast computer speed, you will need to make your processor
run at optimum speed. This can sometimes mean that you will have
to boost your computer to have it operate above your processors
specified frequency. The simplest way to gain a boost in computer
speed and to have it run faster is to overclock your processor. Steps
to overclocking a CPU

Find out whether your motherboard can be adjusted in the BIOS
setup, with jumpers or not at all.
- Find out clock-speed limitations of your motherboard.
- Make a complete backup of your system, documents and applications
you don't have on CD-ROM. Do not overwrite these copies.
- If you have a BIOS-adjustable motherboard, make changes according
to your motherboard manual, and skip to Step 10.
- Next, shut down computer but leave computer plugged in to surge
suppressor. Disconnect all peripherals from computer and remove
cover of chassis.
- Ground yourself to computer with any professional grounding
equipment you have. Otherwise, ground yourself by touching a metal
part of the chassis.
- If your motherboard has adjustable jumpers, locate the jumpers
that control the CPU speed.
- Use needle-nose pliers to change jumper settings. Move jumpers
to positions indicated in your motherboard manual for the clock
speed you want.
- If possible you should try to install a CPU heat sink, heat-sink
compound, and a specialty cooling fan to keep your CPU cool whilst
offering you a fast computer speed.
- Put system back together, and reboot.
- Now you should have an over clocked CPU that will have your
computer work at faster and more efficient speeds.
- In order to maintain your computer well, run frequent tests
to ensure that the CPU can handle the extra workload.
