Landscaping
ideas to make your garden refreshing
and new.
Want
to beautify your garden? It's time for some simple do it yourself
landscaping design ideas you can follow...
- Have a look at your yard or garden. Take notes of the slope
of the land, amount of sun, natural water drainage, play areas,
parking and walking, the climate you live in and the existing
structures, including the house. You must be totally familiar
with your current landscape before coming up with new ideas or
designs.
- After taking down notes of your yard (remember to mark down
any areas with slops and areas that are shaded), draw a rough
plan of your yard. Try to make the plan as close to scale as possible.
-
In most landscaping designs, the house is the center of attention
and what your garden or patio should do is to complement it. Example:
The color of the house can be your inspiration for the color of
some of the flowering plants that you might want to add later.
- When designing your backyard or patio you might want to add
trees or plants. Before adding various plants and trees that you
might like, do take note of the size that they might grow up to
and consider if at that size whether the plant will be suitable
for your garden and whether it will complement your current landscaping
designs.
- To make preparation and caring for the plants easier, look into
plants that are natural to the area you live in. They will be
healthier, and you will have less work to do. Drive around, and
take notes on what plants do well in your area.
- When creating your garden make sure you use the best tool for
the job. If you only need the tool for a day, consider renting
it. Power tools for some jobs, like tilling, can save a lot of
time and money. When you do buy tools, take care of them. Store
them in a convenient spot, well organized and away from moisture,
which could cause them to rust.
- When designing a landscape for your garden you might want to
consider raised flower beds. Although they require some construction
raised flower beds are great because they don’t stress your
knees or back as much when you are working on your flowers. There
is also the additional benefit of not attracting as many weeds
as a regular flower bed.
- Preplanning is an extremely important part of landscaping. A
little preplanning can go a long way toward giving your garden
a terrific, low maintenance design that can be enjoy for years
to come.
