magic card & coin tricksMagic tricks are a great way to entertain people. It keeps them laughing and guessing and everyone has an enjoyable time. Now street magic and simple coin tricks are easy to learn but in order to perform them well and to keep your audience stumped, you must practice! All great illusionists do. Yes even David Blaine. The following are a just a few or the many card tricks and street magic tricks that are easy to learn and fun to do.

1. Card Trick 1

  • Take 11 cards for a regular deck. You will need a joker, an ace and all the numbers up to 10.

  • Layout the cards face down in this order. 6 5 4 3 2 A J 10 9 8 7 (The A being the ace and the J being the Joker)
  • Next, ask a volunteer to move several cards from the right side to the left.

  • While she/he is doing this turn around so that you can’t see how many cards have been moved.

  • Then wave your hand over the cards and silently count 7 cards over from left to right.

  • When you turn the 7th card over, the number on that card is the number of cards that they have moved.

  • If the 7th card is the Joker it means that they didn’t move any card at all!

2. Card Trick 2

  • You will need 8 cards for this trick and one of the cards must be a number 8

  • You will also need an assistant who will help you with the magic trick. He or she will be in on the secret.

  • Next arrange the 8 cards in the same pattern as shown on a number 8 card.

  • Now either leave the room or turn around and have someone in the audience choose one of the eight cards.

  • Your assistant will then show the card to everyone and place it back in its original position.

  • When you return your assistant will point to each card and ask you if it is the card chosen.

  • The trick here is for your assistant to show using the number 8 card, the position of the chosen card on the table. That will reveal the chosen card.

  • Remember you should have arranged the cards in a similar fashion earlier.

3. Rope Trick

  • This is a simple trick that can be done almost anywhere at any time and all you will need is a long piece of rope.

  • Firstly tie a knot at one end of the rope and hide this knot in your hand.

  • Now bring the other end of the rope up to it and pretend to shake the rope while trying to tie it with one hand and chanting.

  • Then drop the end of the rope with the knot and it will look as if you have tied a knot in the rope using just one hand!

To get a better visual on how to perform these magic tricks, you can buy instructional videos online and watch them. There are also shops where you can get the necessary props for your tricks. But remember to practice and you could be the next master of illusion. Just like David Blaine.
