Should
I take acoustic or electric guitar lessons? Your question to which
guitar to play is answered here.
An
acoustic guitar may share a similar name with the electric guitar.
Both are also music instruments that are played similarly and differently
at the same time. Confusing? Not really. Read more to find out the
differences between such similar instruments and find out why you
would want to take acoustic guitar lessons.
-
Outlook
and build wise an acoustic guitar is hollow, and has a round hole
in the face of the guitar whereas the electric guitar is usually
not hollow so when you strike the strings the sound produced is
very quiet.
- Some consider the acoustic guitar easier and cheaper to learn
how to play because you can just pick it up and start strumming
whereas you will need a guitar amplifier to play the electric
guitar or the sound will not be projected.
-
If you have budget constraints then it is probably better to learn
how to play the acoustic guitar because you will not need to purchase
a more expensive guitar along with cables and amplifiers.
-
Generally, people who are just starting to learn how to play a
guitar will find the electric guitar a little more difficult to
learn than the acoustic guitar because there are extra knobs and
buttons to deal with.
-
Which guitar you should learn how to play however also depends
on the style of music that you like or would like to play.
-
If you like the idea of strumming your favorite songs out and
singing to them on occasion then taking lessons on how to play
an acoustic guitar is probably the thing for you.
