Interesting,
fun and cheap toddler games & activities to keep both of you
amused.
The
following are great activities and games you and your toddler can
do together. These games and activities are fun and cheap, and most
importantly essential to your child’s physical and mental
development.
-
Make an obstacle course in your living room out of cushions and
furniture and have ‘you’ and your kid run through
them.
- Toddlers
also enjoy having a secret club or fort so help then make one
in their room out of blankets and pillows.
-
Act out a story from a book. This game will particularly interest the child if it is their favorite story. If possible, include impromptu props and costumes in this activity.
-
Make
a fort or a playhouse out of big cardboard boxes and let your
toddler play ‘House’ or ‘Mummy and Daddy’.
- A
messy but fun crafting activity is finger painting. Allow your
child to use as many colors as they like and encourage them to
be creative! Reward them by pinning the art up on the refrigerator.
-
Play horsy with your toddler and give them a piggy back ride around
the house.
- Teach
your child how to count by using a deck of cards.
-
Teach your toddler how to make a tin cup or paper cup telephone.
Help them make it and ensure that there are no sharp edges. Then
play with it as if it were a real phone!
-
Read a book together. Picture books are better because you can
then encourage your toddler to point out items mentioned in the
book such as animal or fruits and so on.
- Dancing
or singing to your toddler’s favorite TV show or song is
another fun activity to do with your toddler that encourages growth.
